This piece has been woven on my loom in Bristol.
Crafted with yarn, vintage threads and some turmeric yarn from Manos del Uruguay.
This reclaimed yarn is a very strong, smooth yarn spun from 90% Australian wool and 10% nylon with a high twist. It is made for a company who weave seat cushions for cars, planes and trains meaning it is very hardwearing, durable and colourfast.
Manos del Uruguay is a non-profit organisation that supports local women to make a living while remaining in their local village and raising their families. They are renowned for their fantastic colours, which have become their trademark and have been producing beautiful, natural fibre, hand-dyed yarns since 1968.
Oak hanger has been crafted recessed keyhole fixings on back, in England.
Dimensions are approx. 35cm (W) x 62 cm (H).
