This scarf has been woven by hand on a eight shaft countermarch loom from my studio in Bristol.

Woven from a mix of wool from West Yorkshire and Manos del Uruguay. The speckled coloured wool is 100% Shetland wool. Shetland wool is an incredibly natural and sustainable fibre, and is world renowned for its fineness and warmth. Shetland sheep graze on the islands' hills and beaches eating wild heather and seaweed. This diet, along with the not-so-great weather, makes Shetland wool soft, strong and warm.

The wool is from Manos del Uruguay is 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Polyamide. The name of this wool Alegría means ‘joy’ in Spanish, and that’s just what this beautiful hand-painted yarn is – a true colour celebration!

Manos del Uruguay are a non-profit organisation that supports local women to make a living while remaining in their local village and raising their families. They are renowned for their fantastic colours, which have become their trademark and have been producing beautiful, natural fibre, hand-dyed yarns since 1968. Their unique, luxurious yarns have been achieved through research and experimenting with traditional techniques for more than 50 years.

Measures approximately 38cm wide X 225cm long, not including fringe.

The scarf has been pre-washed.

Gently cold wash and dry flat. Do not tumble dry, reshape whilst wet.

This is a handmade product, colours may vary compared to photos.
