XL Wall hanging woven from UK rug wool. Pattern wool is vintage. The pattern on this is called a Monk's Belt variation weave. It is a traditional weaving pattern that originated in Scandinavia, "it probably pre-dates the Christian era, but whether the pattern was actually used for monks' belts or acquired that name later is debatable." From The Handweaver's Pattern Book by Anne Dixon.

This is a handmade product, colours may vary compared to photos, although I have tried to photograph them as best I could, in natural light.

Items are for decorative purpose only and should be hung out of the reach of babies, small children and pets.
